Artist Statement

This piece was based on a few posters and murals from the WPA and New Deal programs in the 30's. I tried to emulate the styles of Eyvind Earle and Grant Wood especially. The subject matter is also similar to the 30s posters, with pastoral farmland, strong, bright cities, and dramatic transportation scenes, but made modern and familiar. - Jordan Johnson
